Pastor Caleb Mitchell of Walworth Baptist Church asked us to assist him in the fall of 2018, when the farmers in his church had to harvest their sugar beets, corn, wheat and soybeans on plots ranging from 8 to 13 thousand acres. Aside from Sundays and midweek services, these families have limited time for church organization and assistance during autumn. Judy and I helped with outreach, preparation for special services and fellowship dinners, and Sunday School, along with maintenance projects and assistance to members, working alongside Pastor Mitchell.
In the summer of 2019, we returned to assist with Vacation Bible School, and fill the pulpit for midweek services. This freed Pastor Mitchell for personal travel, and to host visitors from Bible colleges and special speakers.
