Itinerant Service

OverSeaS Ministries

We have had the priviledge to serve in multiple churches on the mission field to allow relief for missionaries who have spent many years ministering.

Local Church Assistance

Our ministry has allowed us to fill the pulpit and be a great help to local churches in the United States who may be without a pastor or other leadership.

Past Ministry Testimonials

While serving in the various ministries of churches, we have had the priviledge to work along side many Christians who have remarkable salvation testimonies.

About Us

Hello, we are the Cromwell family! Judy and I were called to itinerant service after studying I Corinthians 3:5-9, I Thessalonians 3:1-5 and Acts 16-17. Cooperative service, such as assistance to pastors of small churches in the United States, and foreign mission works, is the focus of our ministry.

Since 2014, we have relieved and assisted missionaries in Mongolia, Cambodia, Mexico, and Africa, for three months to almost two years at a time. I have been privileged to chair the ordination board for Pastor Togsoo of Straight Paths Baptist Church, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia after the 17-year missionaries were denied re-entry into that country. From 2021 to 2023, I organized the Independent Bible Institute of Zambia, gaining government recognition for this college-level training, and teaching three trimesters before turning the work over to the newly-installed pastor.

Judy ministers to wives of missionaries and pastors, strengthening ministries here in the United States, and overseas. Often, the role of the wife is taken for granted or entirely overlooked. Judy has trained Christian ladies overseas, and in the United States to share the burden of Sunday School and Christian Academy teaching in each of these small works, as well as discipleship among the ladies, as directed by the pastor in each of the churches we assist.

This is an active ministry. We receive two or three requests each year for months-long commitments to assist with mission works or local churches. We know of five other itinerant-service missionaries who took permanent positions as pastors, missionaries, or responsible positions in full-time service. The need is not only for assignment and support to ourselves, but other servants willing to assist in this fashion.

Leadership You Can Trust

“The Cromwells have been a blessing to Heritage Baptist Church in Princeton Illinois during our search for a pastor. Brother Byron has helped to fill the pulpit and both of them have provided needed fellowship and encouragement for our people. Our church supports the Cromwells for this very reason: so they can assist ministries such as ours in times of need. As the Apostle Paul once traveled “through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches” (Acts 15:41) and “went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples” (Acts 18:23), so the itinerant service of the Cromwells helps pastors, churches, and missionaries in seasons of need. Our church partners with them as they travel to labor together in the Gospel (Philippians 4:3) with Independent Baptist churches all over the world.”
